Pickens County Family Connection, Inc.

Vision Statement:

All Pickens County children will be born healthy, will be reared in nurturing, safe, self-sufficient and literate families, and will be provided and will utilize quality health care, child care, educational, recreational and spiritual opportunities in order to grow into educated, productive, and involved citizens of the community.

Organization Description:

Pickens County Family Connection, Inc., PCFC, is part of the state-wide network of 159 counties participating in Family Connection and is a local community-wide collaboration between social service agencies, organizations and individuals dedicated to improving the lives of children and their families in Pickens County through programmatic efforts such as Mountain Mentors, Family Support Workers and Family Advocates. Participation in Family Connection is encouraged and open to all members of the community. We especially invite youth, parents, business and government leaders to join us at the table. At the Family Connection table several successful community initiatives have been born, i.e., the Community Thrift Store, the Community Emergency Shelter and the Family Advocate program. PCFC was formed in 1998 and became a non-profit body with a Board of Directors in early 2002. Members of the Board are listed below.
